solo, (and debut!) album by this member of the Antwerp free-music troupe Sheldon Siegel. in Sheldon Siegel, Gerard explores the outer limits of improvisational music and free jazz. as a Solo Unit though, he creates a stripped down radioplay / collage / musique concrete vision of the creative, strange, remarkably funny / tongue in cheeck at some point, and remarkably singular young mind. the man embarks on the path of a combination of free soundsearching mouths a la Jos Steen, Blaastaal and maybe even Al Hansen.

second cassette we put out by this girl, and unessesary to add this is one of our favorite & inspiring current artists out there.... "Neverending Waves" is a reissue of a recent ultra-limited USA tour cdr by Eva Van Deuren. the album heads off with a beautiful potion of C.G.J. approved subconscious mood channelings made out of ideas taken from Javanese Court Gamelan music. after about 7 minutes, the tones are shifting out into a lenghty, triple chapter, melancholic evocation of some sort of "Aguirre Opening Scene" style lush. beautiful and endless.... "Neverending Wave" is a sweet addition to O.F.'s allready heavy catalogue!

all acoustic minimal soundwaves and tickles by actor / musician Christophe Piette (of R.O.T., Ysengrinus, etc) and cook / musician Wietske Van Gils (of Zim Zim Zim, Pulsating In The Eye Of Vision, etc). strange nostalgic sound stories, created by two singular beings of the Belgian jam-out scene. side a is a liveshow recorded during the "Los Van Woorden" series in The Hague, the monthly gatherings into sound poetry and similar modes. side b are two parts of a radiosession, recorded live on our inhouse "De Oceaan Der Geluid" radioshow wich sounds like collected strange rural happenings from the barn.... the whole album defenitly reminds me a bit of a weird lost episode of the Slowscan catalogue, wich is allways a good thing!

The Kealakekua Bay is a place of extreme beauty, located on the west coast of Big Island, Hawai'i, just south of Kona. a place of beautiful colors. a true power spot of the Beau. these fieldrecordings are made close to the shore (side a) and in the waters (side b). side a are waves, birds and forest hums. side b are the sounds and vocalisations of whales and dolphins.

Ada asked me to compose music by one of her great batik works. that composition was used as an "eternal tapeloop" that supplied the sound environment during the exposition of Ada's "eternal hunting grounds" at the Croxhapox Gallery in Ghent, Belgium. this cassette release is the remembrance artifact. a 40 minutes cassette of eternal sound, housed in a beautiful cover (being a small reproduction of the original artpiece) by Ada. http://adavanhoorebeke.blogspot.com

"on seafaring..." was about John C Lilly's thoughts on Seafaring Isolation combined with the minds and hallucinations of the far-out lonely ocean dwellers. these copies are factory dubbed and this pressing is the last run of 100 copies..... after this, it's gone forever....

a space trip by these rock / no-rock heroes. relationships with other cool bands, including my favorite punkrock band THE GIZMOS (with killer tunes like HUMAN GARBAGE DISPOSAL, among others). the recent CRAWLSPACE cd on GULCHER is again a trip in the 70's rockvibe of the western coast. on the other hand, this cdr is two long cuts (one dating from late 90's, one from 2004), both very weird, spaced-out and utterly abstract. another nice view in the head of some ongoing, strong, clear heads of rockhistory. comes in shiny plastic and with full color artwork by the band.

Paul Grimes, member of the now defunct DEATH CHANTS walks a surprisinglypersonal path on this album. very outside the common psychedelic genre
he draws a path of his own. on WARP, Grimes scrapes together a faboulous
blend of easy listening, light marbles and more retro space tunes. a hot
mix of elements of KITARO, JOE MEEK, and even some hits of an
introspective DENNIS WIZE. fantastic stuff for the upcoming summer
hangovers.
