stephen steinbrink - ugly unknowns - gilgongo - cd - 7$
STEPHEN STEINBRINK makes his 11 song debut release under his own name after playing and constantly touring as
FRENCH QUARTER for the past several years. His last full length has been a personal favorite and this new one has
shaped up to be the same. Blissful and uplifting survival songs recorded throughout Arizona at various friends' homes.
Urgent, sincere and real.

french quarter - its not just kissing - gilgongo records - lp - 10$
"So, the French Quarter got "back together" and made a "follow-up" to the self-titled debut album released by Gilgongo Records in 2008. In the downtime between the 8 national tours French Quarter has embarked on since that time, (and after releasing a "solo" record Ugly Unknowns) Stephen Steinbrink wrote and recorded "It's Not Just Kissing", a collection of 15 new pop songs, culled from several tour-exclusive cd-r's and one VHS tape.
"It's Not Just Kissing" finds Stephen with an even more adept control over the pop form, blending electronic elements and rhythms that dramatically expand on the quiet, nylon-stringed intimacy and melodic freedom that has coupled his most common live performance. Lyrically, this album is a reflection of Steinbrink's life on tour, his life at home, not wanting to die and not wanting to grow up in child-like earnestness. Emotionally sincere, ever-urgent and plaintively sad, this album is released to coincide with a national tour (with a full band backing) with Married In Berdichev! of Denver, CO. Co-released by Gilgongo Records, Life's Blood, and No More Second Chances."

bri white / james fella - when night comes - c-salt - cass - 6$
4 new guitar songs from Bri, one long noise / guitar layer piece from
James (me), all recorded when I was visiting Bri in Portland a few
weeks ago. On the way home from eating at Paradox, we found a ripped
apart hand-made art zine in SE PDX by Bri's house, we salvages as much
as we could and decided to pay tribute to the discarded labor of love
by collaging the apporpirate pages of the zine (leaving out personal
info, ect). Though we couldn't figure out who had made the zine, in a
perfect world, she'd be someone on this mailing list, would see this
and then get in touch. Short run of 40.
