Label: Heavy Tapes
At one point I was deep into the Heavy Tapes discography, tracking down every tape and recording. At the time tape labels were still somewhat rare, and cassettes represented this forgotten interface from my youth. This underlying sense of familiarity combined with the heavy tapes sounds that really defied a clean grasp; messy and raw, often the sounds and artwork seeping out of the packages, gave me pause and motive to dig about.
Though at times one questioned how much this was just straight fucking off and pissing about with whatever sound making equipment the particular artist could employ to prattle on and yet at other times, even at the same time, a dead fucking serious sojourn away from the knowns. A delightful balance dredged up still dripping with rawness. Often traipsing the ground between straight noise and newer zones that weren't quite mapped out yet if they ever will be; Heavy Tapes always felt a comprehensive catalogue. This particular recording fit right in, a backwards trip down and in, filtered thru the muck and tuned into the uncertainties within. Thanks Heavy Tapes
