Geology is pleased to present Rhucle's Simple Air, an album that lives and breathes in a way that doesn't so much as mimic nature as join along with it in playing its song.
Part of what sets Rhucle's Yuta Kudo apart is his mastery of combining field recordings with his soundscapes. They come into songs like another instrument, sometimes used in a direct way near the forefront and often as subtle texture in the background, weaving in and out with the synths.
Give Simple Air a little and it gives a lot back. Ambient, of course, works brilliantly as background, but this album opens up wide with just a little attention. The shimmering synth pads aren't starry eyed or far reaching, they are right here like a babbling brook, and contain the same universal insight and grounding power. One reason this music feels so important is that it doesn't leave your head in the clouds, it reminds you that peace is right here, within you or just outside your door.
Breathe deep.
