Label: Polytechnic Youth
The constantly creative and prolific project of Luxembourg based, Danish DJ and musician Martin Jensen, this - in PY’s humble opinion - is his best record yet. Martin himself describes the album as "a collection I did specifically with PY in mind. Dom (PY head) and I had often discussed a shared love of private pressing electronic LPs from the 70s, and I wanted to create something immediate, sparse and functional; with a tip of the cap to those small run, private press records from the day. Many of which would often sink like a stone, only to be rediscovered by eager diggers, many years later; I’d always imagined, in a dusty old Copenhagen attic!” Described by Concrete Islands as “having been fashioned specifically with honouring Polytechnic Youth’s unrepentant penchant for late 70s/early-80s electronic minimalism; whilst still retaining his unshakeable sense of finesse and knack for grooves – this eight-part collection indubitably benefits from its stripped-down and sprightly tooling”.
